3.30 - Gibson in the Sky

There are three large neon guitar signs in Las Vegas. This one is shaped like a Gibson and it is my favorite.

3.29 - Making Cascarones

Learning about a new way (to me) to celebrate the Easter holiday. Tonight we dye (just like traditionally). Tomorrow we add the fun. More photos to come.

3.28 - El Cid

Probably at one time El Cid Hotel was probably a happening affordable place to stay near downtown Las Vegas, but now it is very undesirable. In the past I've seen it boarded up and ready to be destroyed. I'm guessing that it still has a bit of life left.

3.27 - Sadly Unfinished

One of the tallest buildings in Las Vegas is empty, and it has been for years. The building (once known as Fontainebleau Resort) will probably never be completed, yet is has to be maintained as a construction site. It will remain this way until it is either completed or destroyed.

Today I went into the lobby of a trendy high-rise condo building. There was some kind of electronic music playing way too loud on purpose to set the "vibe". I thought it was too loud and unnecessary. Maybe I am getting old?!?!

Spent all day at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway covering the Sam's Town 300. I took a lot of photos of racing cars, yet this was still the best of the day

I was convinced by my friend Jay to try Jiu Jitsu today. I think he hopes I will like it enough to become his sparring buddy.

I was intrigued. I learned how to choke someone out by simply using their Jiu Jitsu gi, which helps if I run into a bunch of gi wearing thugs.

Driving to work early this morning I was privileged enough to see the U.S.A.F. Thunderbirds practicing their maneuvers in the northeast valley over Nellis AFB.




I need to see their show again, but I don't want to wait until November!!
